As usual, I find something else I didn’t hear/see/whatever with Charlie. This time it’s Charlie with his DAREDEVIL co-star Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) with Erik Nagel on his Youtube channel. Another amazing interview with Charlie in that I could listen to this guy’s voice all the livelong day and not get tired. I love the interplay with Deborah and their shared approach to acting. As I’ve been want to do in the past week since I began building this site, I’ve been watching as many videos as I can with Charlie to bring them here. One of the ones I just got through with was with Yesterdays Wishes on Youtube. The girl who has the channel is the Digital Ambassador for Living Paintings, a site that brings digital content to the visually impaired. This interview with Charlie not only shows his charmingly adorable side, but his innate humanity as he addresses the aspect of being visually impaired. I know all about this personally through my late mother who suffered from Centre Vision Macular Degeneration for the last twenty-five years of her life. Watching as Charlie was so engaging with Lucy shows I think what I’ve come to love about Charlie. How he’s not only engaging, but interested in what you’re saying and the work he’s done to make the Matt Murdock side of the character so realistic and believable. This interview was just quite a find. I was delighted to sit through it, though I wish it were longer. Charlie has one of those personalities you just want to sit and just listen to forever. Thank you Charlie for how wonderful and magnanimous you are.
While searching the Youtubes for stuff on Charlie, I found this long interview with Rajeev Masand where Charlie talks about Matt Murdock’s flaws, his love life and his hope for THE DEFENDERS. This is a really cool interview with Charlie and he shows how truly sweet he is. I loved Charlie’s reaction to what Rajeev said about the discussion on message boards about whether Charlie really is blind. Charlie’s candor with regards to the question about religion is quite a humble thing on his behalf, as well as his admission to being a private person and not having all the social media stuff. It is for that reason this site will respect Charlie’s privacy and not post any photos of him in his private life. He’s allowed that, I feel. The other thing I found very cute was his telling about being an Englishman in New York. I’m thinking a Sting song at this moment, though I know that’s about being an illegal alien. Same thing. Here is a video where Charlie talks to Entertainment Weekly. Charlie talks about season two of DAREDEVIL and Matt’s arrogance at believing only he can do what he’s doing. He also talks about Matt’s need to protect those he loves.
One last post for the morning. This is Charlie from 2006. I’m not sure what it was for, but he looks so adorable. Just to let you know, I’m trying to get Charlie’s work from DAREDEVIL done. Should take me into next week to get the screencaps edited. I’m also building a site for Elodie Yung (Elektra Natchios), so I’m going to be doing double duty on them.
